Our ultimate objective is clear: to equip Non-Chinese Speaking students with the language proficiency and confidence needed to integrate into the community. By focusing on practical application and cultural immersion, we ensure that language learning is both meaningful and highly achievable.

Catering to Learning Differences

• Thematic Units & Guided Questions: We break our curriculum down into structured, digestible thematic units.
• Bloom’s Taxonomy Approach: Lessons and notes are scaffolded from basic recall to higher-order critical thinking. Guided questions are embedded at every stage to stretch advanced learners while providing a solid safety net for those who need extra support.

Empowerment through Professional Partnerships

• Education Bureau L10 Support & Cultural Enrichment: We leverage external expertise to design immersive language experiences that extend far beyond traditional textbooks.This year with the help of curricular development experts,we developed unit named "My Future GPS" — AI-Assisted Career Exploration (「我的未來GPS」—— AI 輔助中五非華語學生中文生涯探索課).We actively incorporate Artificial Intelligence and career guidance into our Senior Secondary (S5) Chinese language curriculum. Students are taught prompt engineering—learning how to effectively instruct AI tools to act as their personalized, 24/7 home tutors. Through this interactive process, AI helps students draft resumes, practice conversational Chinese, and conduct simulated mock interviews to prepare them for their future aspirations.
   

HKU Empowerment and Translation Program: By joining this elite university initiative, we continuously upgrade our teaching methodologies and bring cutting-edge language acquisition strategies directly into our classrooms.With the help of professionals from HKU, we created a CUHK Literary Walk & Travelogue Writing (香港中文大學文學散步與遊記寫作) unit for the S2 NCS students.To bridge the gap between classroom Chinese and the real world, students embark on an experiential journey to The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). During this immersive field trip, they capture the sights and sounds of the campus, transforming their sensory experiences into collaborative Travelogue. This process turns abstract vocabulary into vivid, personal narratives and they understand that they can also become Hong Kong writers.

Cultural Enrichment & Festive Celebrations

We believe that mastering a language goes hand in hand with experiencing its culture. To foster a deep sense of belonging and cultural appreciation, our NCS students actively participate in traditional festive celebrations throughout the school year:

• Mid-Autumn Festival (Tangyuan Tasting & Lantern Making): Students celebrate this time of reunion by handcrafting traditional Chinese lanterns and enjoying a Tangyuan (sweet rice balls) tasting session. Through these hands-on activities, they learn the vocabulary and cultural significance behind the festival's customs.
• Chinese New Year (Hanfu Experience): To welcome the Lunar New Year, we organize a Chinese traditional clothing (Hanfu) try-on experience. Students immerse themselves in historical aesthetics, dress in beautiful traditional attire, and participate in campus-wide festive celebrations, bringing traditional Chinese heritage to life in a vibrant, interactive way.
• Central Heritage & Revitalization Tour: Tai Kwun and Central Market：Our students journey into the heart of Central to explore how history meets modern sustainability at two of Hong Kong's most iconic revitalized landmarks: Tai Kwun and the Central Market. Walking through these transformed spaces, students learn about architectural conservation while engaging in real-world Chinese language tasks. They practice describing the contrast between old and new Hong Kong, turning a simple neighborhood walk into an immersive lesson on local heritage, community evolution, and cultural identity.
