Innovation Technology

Focus: Hands-on Maker Skills, Digital Fabrication, Robotics & Project-Based Learning

Pedagogical Approach: Emphasizes experiential learning, design thinking, iterative prototyping, and cross-curricular STEAM synthesis. Students convert theoretical concepts into functional physical artifacts.

Curriculum Framework (S1 to S5 — School-Based)

  • Design Thinking Process: Empathizing with users, defining problem statements, brainstorming creative ideas, building rapid prototypes, and conducting testing.
  • 3D Design & Digital Fabrication
  • 3D Modeling (CAD): Computer-aided 3D modeling using Tinkercad, Blender and SketchUp, parametric modeling, and preparing files for manufacturing.
  • 3D Printing: Slicing software configuration (layer height, infill, supports), material selection (PLA/PETG), printer operation, and post-processing.
  • Laser Cutting & Engraving: Vector graphics design, precision laser cutting, engraving on wood and acrylic, joint construction, and workshop safety protocols.
  • Robotics & Physical Computing: Microcontroller platforms (micro:bit, Arduino, ESP32), sensor integration (ultrasonic, infrared, temperature/humidity), servo/motor actuation, and IoT wireless communication.
  • AI Literacy & Applied Tools: Machine learning concepts, computer vision tools, generative AI applications, prompt design, and ethical AI evaluation.
  • Senior Enhancement Lessons (S4 & S5): Advanced enrichment lessons delivered with external industry mentors, focusing on advanced prototyping, mobile app integration, and creative technologies.
