LTPSS teachers have not only been busy grappling with a constantly changing teaching environment as we navigate school life during the pandemic, but have also been engaged in various professional development activities from September 2021 to January 2022.
Newly-joined teachers were oriented to the school through a variety of induction and curriculum sessions including:
- Heart-to-heart Discussion with Principal Kwok
- Check-in and Briefing with New Teachers
- Using Effective Questioning Techniques in Classrooms
Whole staff sessions have included:
- Introduction to the Professional Ladder for Teachers and T-standard
- Understanding and Observing Professional Code
- Joint-school National Education Workshop run by the Education Bureau
- Giving Feedback that Enhances Academic Achievements
Our department heads and other middle managers have had opportunities to develop their leadership and curriculum development skills through sessions including:
- Homework Accommodation in Catering for Learner Diversity
- Supporting Learning for Students with Executive Functioning Difficulties
- Effective Feedback on Lesson Observations
- Curriculum Planning and Implementation of the Multi-disciplinary STEM project on global climate change and global warming
- Inter-school Staff Development Sessions with Tin Ka Ping Secondary School (English, Maths, Liberal Studies & CSD)
Future sessions are being planned for the 2nd term including values education and supporting students with learning difficulties.
