While we, the educators, have been offering academic support to our students on a day-to-day basis, nobody will deny that nurturing hope and confidence among them will be equally important. Through pastoral support and life planning, we believe that students can better understand their character strengths and abilities to overcome challenges, set realistic academic and life goals and make informed choices accordingly.
This year, our school’s Life Planning and Career Counselling Team invited registered social workers from the Hong Kong Federation Youth Group to conduct one-on-one, individualised life planning counselling sessions to each S4 student titled “Dream vs. Career”, at our cosy Life Planning and Career Cousnelling Centre in our School Library.
The one-on-one counselling programme included: (1) a career assessment to understand if they have any career dreams at the moment (2) the setting of SMART academic (and non-academic) goals to realise their dreams based on their personal strengths and elective choices (3) additional counselling sessions to individual students and (4) evaluation of our students’ needs and status.
The whole programme kicked off since November and will continue until June 2020. For more information regarding the programme, please contact Ms Joanna Lee, our Head of Life Planning and Career Counselling Team.
