The S3 Subject-Selection-Preparation Week 2018 which aimed at helping S3 students to further understand the NSS curriculum and requirements of various electives was held successfully from 5th March to 9th March 2018. The objectives of this week were to empower our S3 students to
– evaluate their own interests and competence;
– set realistic goals for their study plans from now until the final exam;
– be more aware of further study opportunities and career prospects; and
A briefing session was conducted on 5th March to familiarise students with the objectives of the week and the beautifully designed logbook. S3 students were required to complete one entry during each taster lesson conducted by our HODs or subject teachers of those NSS electives to be held in our school. Students who completed the logbooks satisfactorily received the LTPSS points and a certificate. Those logbooks would also used as notes for class teachers and parents when conducting discussion or career counselling on subject selection.
In addition, the S4/S5 Elective Students Sharing Session and the S3 Parents Evening was also held successfully on 9th March 2018, jointly organised by the Hok Yau Club and our school’s Career Counselling and Life Planning Team. Nearly 150 participants joined the event. The night together with the whole S3 Subject-Selection-Preparation Week was a success.
We hope that through this week, students can make very sensible decisions in subject combinations when completing the 2nd and 3rd NSS Subject Selection Surveys and choose electives or related disciplines that they are truly interested in and competent with.
