LTPSS in partnership with OWN Academy held the Real World Experience – Entrepreneurship program for Secondary 4 students. Six sessions ran from October 2021 – April 2022, while the culminating activity took place last August 1, 2022.
To start off the program, OWN Academy conducted a self-assessment workshop for students to reflect on their priorities and direction. Tools such as the Life Balancing Map and Ikigai were introduced to help them chart their course in life.
Four entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds talked about their career journeys through individual sessions. We had Leanne Lam, an event planner and influencer; Aaron Robbie, a mental health advocate who started his own movement; Eugene Chan, a young filmmaker who created his own production company; and Angel Chia, a finance expert and advisor. They shared their real-world experiences on finding purpose, starting their own business, and creating impact.
The final part of the program was a workshop on Entrepreneurship where students learned about the process of creating products that are not only desirable and viable, but helpful to society. The students were then grouped into teams and tasked with pitching their best product ideas.
The teams showed off their creativity through a final presentation where the best pitch won! Team S.O.C.K from class 4S emerged as the victor with Stainless Odourless Clothes for Kids that wowed the audience and garnered the highest votes. It was an exciting end to the Real World Experience Entrepreneurship program which Secondary 4 students successfully completed.
