I am glad to win the Outstanding Teaching Award for Business and Financial Education organized by Hong Kong Education City and Hong Kong Association for Business Education. To win this award, I needed to submitted detailed lessons plans, teaching materials, student work samples and a video recording of the lessons to present clearly how the pedagogy, teaching resources, programmes, projects and activities that I have adopted can promote knowledge, motivation, useful skills, attitudes and behaviours in business education.
My teaching materials help students learn the essential knowledge in business education. It includes different theories, many real-life business situations and a variety of activities, such as debate, presentation, interview, group discussion and site visit.
The objective of my learning materials is to increase students’ ownership through formative assessment modes. Students always need to work closely with their peers to research a topic and complete an assignment. In the end, they can become an independent, reflective and motivated learners.
