On April 15th 2016, the LTPSS drama club competed against some of the top EMI schools in Hong Kong and brought home the top prize, the “Outstanding Performance,” for the school. The competition, held every year, was hosted by the The Association of English Medium Secondary Schools and is showcase of high level English drama. Each team was required to produce a 15 minute original or adapted play entirely in English. LTPSS’ play, Empty Walls, was an exploration of communication in a world filled with high tech equipment. The play combined elements of comedy, drama, and a 3 minute movement piece using torches.
As a result of winning an Outstanding Performance award, the team performed a second time at the prize presentation held on May 17th at Heep Yunn Secondary School. There the team collected their other prize, the “Best Teamwork” award.
The drama club will perform the award winning play once more for the school and parents during the end of year Performing Arts showcase on July 8th.
