Principal Ms. Tam and Chinese teacher Mr. Allen Li took a visit, organized by HKSSIP that aims to link up schools in HK and Scotland to improve teaching and learning of both sides, to Edinburgh from 22nd to 30th April. They met members of Scotland China Education Network, representatives from seven local schools, officers of Chinese and Scottish governments, and staff in Edinburgh Zoo, with 6 other Hong Kong Schools. Each HK school is partnering with one Scottish school, and this trip is to improve understanding of education systems of HK and Scotland, as well as teaching and learning of each sides by having meetings, class observations, and other activities. James Gillespie’s High School, one of the best government schools in Scotland, is our partner school. We did find so many similarities in terms of education philosophy, teaching and learning, therefore, both schools are keen to find out the possibilities of corporations in the future, including exchange program, teachers and students sharing, joint lessons and activities, etc. And they will visit us in HK next year, so students would have a chance to know more about them. Both Ms. Tam and Mr. Li found this trip meaningful and useful to improve our teaching and learning, and students in LTPSS will definitely benefit from this partnership to broaden their horizons, improve their cross-culture communication skills and develop a sense of being a global citizen.
