Three of our S6 students had participated the iFocus competition during July to September and got a distinction award. The competition is very meaningful that it aims:
• to train the new generation to become young leaders in global ICT policy development.
• to train students to proficiently express concern over worldly issues and attend to the needs of different stakeholders in society.
• to guide youths to inspire peers, building a friendly, healthy and harmonious ICT world.
• to train youths in becoming knowledge-based volunteers, and with mission of building a better online world, proactively initiate community events, and be a responsible net-izen.
• to develop effective guides for students on Internet ethics and responsible Internet usage.
Here are the reflections of the students:

In this competition, I learnt that smart phone is not only for gaming, but it is a tool to make better to our life. We designed and developed a sign language application for this competition. It helped to develop my application development skills. This competition also gave me a good opportunity to learn how to overcome the hardship with my teammates. I learn a lot in this iFocus competition!
6M 09 CHAN Ho Yin
In this competition I needed to cooperate with my teammates to develop the application and promote the benefit of information technology. During this project, we faced different problems. Some of them are very complicated and we had different opinion of solving the problem. Although we argued with each other, we finally overcame the obstacle and solved the problem. Though we could not get any awards in this competition, I am still happy for our result and we gain a lot of experience and enhance the relationship with my teammates.

After I participated in the iFocus competition, I found that technology is more complicated than I thought. Recently, I think technology only includes programming, hardware and software. However, I did not realize how important that how we use technology to help people. I always use technology to work on my assessments and video games, but I did never use it on helping others. This time, we developed our own mobile app and used it to teach children. Although we lost in this competition, I think we still learnt something new on using technology.
