LTPSS Story Pilots have had a busy start to the new school year, with seven visits to Primary Schools already in November and December. We have visited old friends at Lok Sin Tong Primary School in Kowloon City, and Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Primary in Tai Po – both small groups where our Pilots can really get to know the Primary students and build a strong relationship whilst enjoying stories and activities in English.
We’ve also twice visited a school new to us – Shak Chung Shan Memorial Catholic Primary school, in Tsuen Wan, where two groups of eight of our Pilots have shared stories with young students in Primary 2. Holding their attention was a challenge sometimes, but one we conquered – and we’ve already been requested to add another date at this school in Spring 2016, as well as the English Panel Chair herself inviting us to visit again in the 2016-17 school year. One of our more experienced Pilots was even offered the opportunity to have an internship in this school if she is interested – what an honour!
The really remarkable thing about all this is that the majority of our Pilots this year are from our S1 classes – it’s not so long since they were in Primary themselves, and yet they have quickly transformed into able ‘big brothers and sisters’ for the students in our Primary trips, and done so with enthusiasm and energy.
The enjoyment on all the faces in the photos heretell the story better than any words…
