During the Easter holiday, from 29th March to 1st April, a group of S4 and S5 students went to Malaysia for a study trip. We have visited Malacca and Kuala Lumpur for four days. The trip is organized by the Tourism and Hospitality Studies Department.
The objectives of the learning trip:
– To understand and explain travel and tourism as an integrated discipline
– To examine the factors that encourage and prohibit the development of tourism
– To examine the career prospect in the tourism sector
– To understand the characteristics of the hospitality industry
Reflection of teacher and students
It was an unforgettable experience to visit Malaysia. I was delighted by our students’ participation. During the trip, students were able to broaden their horizons. Students gathered first-hand information about the tourism industry by themselves. The travel experience can allow them to have a better understanding of the tourism industry.

I have learnt a lot from the trip. I know more about the tourism industry of Malaysia. I visited the Grand Millennium Hotel KL for our practical sessions. It was also my first time to experience the Muslim culture. Throughout the trip, I enjoyed very much the local food in Malaysia, especially Nyonya food.

I learnt a lot in the Malaysia trip and it was very eye-opening. This was the first time I went to Melaka. I enjoyed my visit to the cultural heritage, such as St. Paul Church and Old Town. I further develop my interests in learning the subject.
