Students sharing their love of reading — that’s the heart of our Story Pilots Team. Every week at our Wednesday lunchtime meeting, a group S1 to S3 students, with a few senior form members, rehearses reading a variety of story books that would appeal to primary-aged students. They are preparing for various outings that take place throughout the year at primary schools all over the New Territories. For each event, one Story Pilot will read English stories to small groups of 5 to 10 primary students.
Our Story Pilots are learning to read fluently and expressively, as well as how to manage small groups of small people — which can be tricky! The primary students get to hear lovely stories and have fun while using English. Everybody has a great time!
