Mathematics week was held on 16/1 to 19/1. The theme was “Work Hard, Play Hard”. The various activities allowed students to become more confident in their mathematical abilities, in addition to developing their team work, perseverance, and creativity.
Uniform Tests
While we want the students to enjoy the fun of mathematics, academic achievement should still be the main focus for them. Mathematical Uniform tests were held in each form during the mathematics week. Students studied hard for these tests. The tests allowed students to discover their misunderstanding and then able to set goals to improve.
S3 Mathematics Competition
S3 students had a mathematics competition in the hall on 18/1. The competition was held using Kahoot. S6 students were also invited to take the quizzes as well. Students had a chance to compete with each other. Everyone was engaged and felt the excitement of solving mathematical problems.
S1 Mathematics activity about Percentage
Through this activity, students would have a chance to become a boss, and apply what they have learnt in Percentages. The event is successfully held and students enjoyed it very much. You may also find that we created some “LTPSS money” for the students in the activity.
Magic 24 competition
Magic 24 is an arithmetical card game in which the objective is to find a way to manipulate four integers so that the end result is 24. The competition was organized by the Mathematics Society. This game helps students to develop mental arithmetic and fast thinking skills.
Congratulations to all the prize winners and thank you to everyone who participated.
