The Harvard Book Prize is an award set up by Harvard Club of Hong Kong to award outstanding students in S.5 who have achieved academic excellence, possess exceptional personal qualities and/or have made a significant contribution to the school or community.
245 schools applied this year with over 700 students taking part. This year, three of our students received this recognition; they are Chu Lok Yan, Iris; Law Wan Sze, Jenny and Daniel Edward Kean. As part of this award, the students also wrote essays with the theme “A Positive Mindset” in order to gain a scholarship to Harvard Summer School. In their essays, the students described how they adopted a positive mindset to improve themselves or improve their relationship with others.
164 students applied for the scholarship and 35 were chosen. Out of the 35, ten were interviewed and seven were finalists. We are overjoyed to learn that Jenny Law was one of those finalists and is one of the three scholarship winners to Harvard Summer School in 2019. Jenny was chosen as she demonstrated “tenacity, grit, hunger and thirst.” We are exceptionally proud of Jenny and wish her all the best in her journey ahead!
