Ten of our ICT students in the senior form recently participated in the “Artificial Intelligence Literacy Programme” organised by The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). This intensive program equipped the students with invaluable knowledge and skills to navigate the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence (AI).
Over the course of 60 hours, these students gained a deep understanding of AI’s fundamental concepts and applications. The program fostered their awareness of the ethical considerations surrounding AI and emphasised the importance of responsible and ethical use of the technology.
The program aimed to empower secondary students in Hong Kong with AI competency which enables them to actively shape a future society with AI technologies widely used. By nurturing students’ AI literacy, they are well-prepared to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by the AI-driven era.
Throughout the program, our ten ICT students were engaged in hands-on workshops, discussion sessions, and self-directed readings. They explored various aspects of AI, including machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, computer vision, and data modelling. Additionally, they gained practical experience by working on real-life AI application development projects, leveraging Python libraries to build machine learning and deep learning models.
We sincerely thank the Education University of Hong Kong for organising this transformative initiative and providing a platform for our students to thrive. Through collaborations like these, we pave the way for a brighter future where AI is harnessed responsibly and contributes to the betterment of the society.
