Tai Po Outstanding Teen Awards
6S Ho Yuen Ting, Bobo
I am incredibly honoured and filled with pride to have been bestowed with the prestigious Tai Po Outstanding Teens Award. The entire selection process was both demanding and nerve-wracking, as I found myself engaging in group discussions and personal interviews alongside exceptionally accomplished students from various schools in Tai Po. However, thanks to the invaluable guidance of my English teachers and the steadfast resilience instilled in me by my school’s motto, I managed to advance to the second round.
One of the most enlightening aspects of this journey was the group outing we embarked upon, where we not only delved into the rich history of Tai Po but also paid a meaningful visit to the Sha Tau Kok anti-Japanese war memorial hall. This experience opened my eyes to new perspectives and allowed me to forge connections with fellow students from diverse backgrounds.
Upon returning, I was tasked with submitting a reflection and report on our trip, which further deepened my appreciation for the profound impact of this experience. Finally, I had the privilege of being among the top five finalists in my group, which granted me the opportunity to deliver an impromptu one-minute speech on the effectiveness of consumption vouchers. Despite not receiving the coveted “Star Student” Award, I remain immensely grateful for the progress I made throughout the election process.
Receiving this award has had a tremendous impact on my self-confidence, as it serves as a validation of the countless hours I have dedicated to my studies and extracurricular pursuits. Moreover, this entire experience has taught me the importance of resilience and has instilled in me a newfound belief in my own abilities. Moving forward, I am committed to continuing my academic endeavours and achieving outstanding results in the DSE examinations, to make both myself and my school proud.
